Tattered Cover, Colorado’s largest independent bookstore, has opened the doors of its highly anticipated 6,494-square-foot Downtown Westminster location. The new bookstore is home to the brand’s first full-service bar, Tattered Cover Best Cellars, serving up local wine and beer, café offerings, outdoor seating, and more.

“This location has been years in the making and we are thrilled to welcome the Westminster community to the newest Tattered Cover,” said Kwame Spearman, CEO of Tattered Cover. “Our goal is to share a love of literature with every Coloradan and we can’t think of a better spot than Westminster to be the home of our first bar within a bookstore, creating a true destination for book-lovers and a community hub for conversation and connection.”

Located in the heart of Downtown Westminster at the Origin Hotel, the new bookstore offers more than 14,500 titles and 27,000 books. Featuring design elements that feel familiar to long-time fans of the brand, tall wooden bookshelves line the walls and interior space, atop Tattered Cover’s signature green carpet and concrete flooring. The walls and exposed ceiling are also painted in Tattered Cover Green, accented with brick arches and natural light.

The bar, Best Cellars, serves locally made Attimo Wine and craft brews courtesy of Fiction Beer Company, plus a full café with coffee beverages and food offerings. Additionally, cocktails and a Tattered Cover custom-blend wine will be introduced to the menu in the coming weeks. A patio complements the space, providing readers with the opportunity to enjoy the warmer months outdoors with a good book and drink in hand.

The Westminster bookstore will host regular events, including:

  • Storytime every Wednesday at 11 a.m. and Sunday at noon
  • Happy Hour (10% off romance titles and $1 off Tattered Cover wine by the glass) every Wednesday from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m. beginning February 2
  • Teacher Appreciation Day (10% off books for teachers) every fourth Sunday of the month
