The WestyRISE initiative helped the Westminster community recover from the initial phases of the COVID-19 crisis by providing resources and programs specifically targeted toward Westminster economic resilience, including business grants, housing grants, outreach and supplies.

WestyRISE Business Grant

Created to satisfy fixed costs stemming from monthly rental and mortgage payments

  • Total amount awarded: $1,343,946
  • Number of applications approved: 321
  • Average grant amount: $4,187

Aided local restaurants and bars which had a decline in sales due to public health orders

Created to provide local businesses with grants up to $35,000, dependent on business needs, for job retention; in partnership with Adams County’s Community & Economic Development Department

  • Applications approved = 48 (as of 12/30/21)
  • Average grant amount = $15,692

Created to provide rent/mortgage assistance and prevent evictions and keep individuals housed

  • Maiker Housing Partners (Adams County): $258,000 assisted 64 households
  • Foothills Regional Housing (Jefferson County): $230,000 assisted  81 households
  • Additional $220,000 in grants and assistance to Growing Home, Human Services Board, and Westminster Legacy Foundation

Westminster City Council passed a resolution to procure and distribute cloth face coverings for free to Westminster businesses

  • A total of 30,000 face coverings were distributed to 164 total businesses
    • 22,150 face coverings distributed to 116 Adams County businesses
    • 7,850 face coverings distributed to 48 Jefferson County businesses
